I have
nothing to report from the County other than meetings have been taking place
throughout the Covid period including full coun=
cil
meetings but all on line. We have no idea when ‘normal’ f=
ace
to face working will resume at Matlock and I am sure that some meetings will
continue to take place on line instead of travelling to Matlock, changing t=
he
way we work in the future.
There is
talk of Unity authorities again, and a white government paper due in the au=
tumn
which will outline the expectation from governme=
nt
regarding shrinking the need for tiered authorities, which could mean
amalgamation with other authorities or the abolition of districts and
boroughs. Time will tell which way we are heading.
Very different and challenging times in local government.
Please let me have any issues which need to be sent in to county for
their attention.
I would also advise I still have some money in my community pot if
needed!
